Kelsey recently completed a Masters of Science in Environmental Science under the supervision of Courtney Mason at Thompson Rivers University. Since 2015, she has been working on a research initiative that looks at the barriers to physical activity affecting Indigenous youth in city centers. Through this project she has volunteered with the Kamloops White Buffalo Metis Society on their FitNation initiative that brings physical activity and education programs to high school age Indigenous students in Kamloops. Kelsey received the Ken Lepin Graduate Student Award (2016) and she was awarded the Canadian Institute of Health Research (CIHR) Master’s Fellowship. Kelsey currently works at Simon Fraser University. Kelsey defended her master’s thesis in the summer of 2018.
