Paulina’s research interests include environmental and sustainable policies as a means to encourage, regulate and respond to environmental issues as they affect Northern Canadians. Paulina was born and raised in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, a remote sub-arctic community with high costs of living and geographical remoteness. She has witnessed first-hand the implications of climate change and the need to carefully manage the delicate and volatile Northern landscapes, cultures and ecosystems. Over the last two years Paulina has been employed by the Government of the Northwest Territories as a Policy Officer, and tied in her academic background, professional experience and passion for the North to provide an interdisciplinary approach to her research. Paulina was awarded the Canadian Northern Studies Trust Award (2018). Paulina currently work in the Department of Infrastructure and Environmental Affairs for the Northwest Territories government.
